2016 World Hapkido Mastership
The 2016 Cheongju World Martial Arts Masterships "an Olympics for martial arts" was held in Cheongju City of North Chungcheong Province, for seven days from September 2 to 8 under the theme of “Harmony of the World Martial Arts.According to the Cheongju World Martial Arts Mastership Organizing Committee, 1,351 players, 261 coaches and 461 technical executives submitted the entries.
By nationalities, Uzbekistan has the highest participation rate with 84 players, except for Korea, following Nigeria with 64, Malaysia with 51, India with 47 and Iran with 45.By 17 martial arts events, Taekwondo has the highest number of participants with 128, Belt Wrestling with 120, Kurash with 112, Record with 105, Martial Arts Show with 104, Kickboxing with 92, Yongmudo with 81, Hapkido with 80, Horseback Archery with 78, Wushu with 77, Sambo with 72, Taekkyeon with 65, Judo with 64, Tong-il Moo-do with 58, Muaythai with 44, Jujitsu with 43 and Kendo with 28.
Korean hapkido has been one of the most beautiful and popular fields of this competition. In the first round of the Martial Arts Mastership competition, which was held as a multi-sport, 80 selected hapkido practitioners from all over the world (South Korea, Iran, America, France, Germany, Russia, Belgium , Austria, China, India) participated in this competition and competed together.At the end of these competitions, the following results were obtained in hapkido.
